In July 2009 ceramic and glas designer Isabel Hamm asked us to experiment with Keraflex.
The ceramic foil can almost be processed like paper and the task for the one week workshop
was to build lighting objects. It came to know that during the burning process the material
becomes very flexible before it hardens, which made it difficult to keep the desireable shape.
Working with folding techniques helped to counteract this effect. Still, after burning the
0.5mm thin foil turned out to be very fragile. This led to an ironical idea of small folded
packing cases who pretend to have fragile content while they are fragile itself.
