The "Alpha Chair" is based on the idea that it is possible
to fold sheet steel just like paper. A laser cuts and
perforates the 1.5mm sheet. Because of the 3-dimensional
and lateral foldings the seat shell becomes stiff and
gets its characteristic shape. Four oak profiles are making
a (stackable) chair out of it.
Der "Alpha Chair" beruht auf der Idee, dass sich Stahlblech
falten lassen müsste wie Papier. Per Laser wird 1,5mm
dickes Blech zugeschnitten und perforiert. Durch 3-dimensionale
Faltung und seitliche Abkantung erhält die Sitzschale ihre Form
und Stabilität. Vier Eichenprofile machen das Ganze zu einem Stuhl,
der sogar noch stapelbar ist.
